Survive Active Violence Events
Our core program SAVE! is composed of 3 Modules, outlined below.
01.
— Active Shooter Response
- Learn proven tactics and strategies for staying alive
- Understand the psychology behind the recommended survival techniques
- Gain an understanding of the history & associated statistics of such events
- 30-120 minutes, course length can vary based on organization’s requests
This Module is part of the overall “SAVE! Yourself & Others” program but is also available as a Standalone Course.
02.
— 1st Aid/Emergency & Trauma Aid
- Learn how to identify common signs of distress & injury
- Discover how to conduct basic triage
- Instruction on how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively
- Based on proven care utilizing guidelines from the Red Cross, Stop the Bleed©, and C-TECC among others
- These skills could save your own life or the lives of others
- 1-6 hours, course length varies based on how much training is requested

— Firearm Safety & Legal Considerations
- Basics of Firearms Safety
- Making a firearm safe / unloading
- Safe storage of firearms
- Self defense concepts
- Violent Encounters and Their Aftermaths
- Considerations of firearm use during Active Violence/Shooter events
- Tips for deciding if firearm use is appropriate or not
- Conflict de-escalation and resolution
- Dealing with anger management issues
- Suicide prevention
- State specific firearms laws*
- 4-16 hours, course length can vary based on requested training

*Currently only applies to VA & MD state laws. Courses that include DC firearms laws are planned for the future.
